All songs on "Mörkrets Tid" (Time of Darkness) feature scenes and characters from Erik Granströms novels "Svavelvinter" and "Vanderland". The cover art depicts the undead rising from their long sleep in the mires of Cruri. Erik has written the lyrics in Swedish, while Christian Älvestam provides all music.

Christian Älvestam - that man is a fucking legend and I will not accept any other standpoint. Still, the melodic death metal of Svavelvinter went under my radar for quite some time. There are subtle black metal influences here and there (a very few!) which I enjoy h̶e̶m̶s̶k̶t̶ highly; the vocals, both clean and harsh of course, are a) once again the centrepiece of the songs; and - unsurprisingly - b) as impeccable, mesmerising and pleasant as always.
